Spot does not cover pre-existing conditions like other pet insurance plans. The policy does not cover certain health conditions. For instance, dental disease, hip dysplasia, intervertebral disk disease, and other hereditary conditions aren't covered. Other exclusions include dental and orthodontic procedures and expenses related to boarding and daycare. Insurance does not cover cosmetic treatments or bilateral conditions.
Spot's preexisting illness policy does not include coverage for veterinary treatment of arthritis. Pre-existing conditions are any medical condition that occurred before the plan was issued. Unless arthritis has been treated, the insurance company cannot pay for treatment. While this policy doesn't have an age limit or a deductible, customers must still pay at least $2,500 for any vet costs.
